I support my local scene, if thats what you call it..

Scunthorpe, the name it’s self really doesn’t say a lot for it’s self. This is my home town I’m pretty ashamed of it to be quiet honest. We have about 2 half decent promoters who are willing to put on metal shows. It’s pathetic the scene here in my opinion is the worst I have ever come across, I think I could count on one had who actually likes metal shows around hear, not just people who come to shows because they think they look cool because its “screamo” music you are just idiot fags, I hope you die. You go down the road to Doncaster, Sheffield, Leeds people say they’re scene is “dead” but to by quiet honest they’re scene is alive as ever. Every Thursday in Doncaster there is a show at the Vintage Rockbar I try to get down to at least one show a month there, in all honesty Doncaster in my opinion is one of the best loyal places I have ever been, every week the same kids are coming down every Thursday, I can Easley why bands enjoy playing there with the like off The Acacia Strain playing there things are on the up.
Looking back 3 years ago, metal was the demanding scene in every area now days it’s hardcore don’t get me wrong I love hardcore just as much as metal but if I had to choose between the two I would just swing to the metal side (sorry Josh) But I think everyone could learn a lot from the hardcore scene at the moment every show kids are always there it’s amazing, house shows the lot the problem with Scunthorpe is no one likes decent music here, most people are fags your all dicks. Another point before I leave this, I’ve noticed that a few people are coming to metal shows recently I’m not going to name names, but at metal shows you don’t push mosh alright? You dance, ok yes a few of you have attempted to do this but you fail as much as Scunthorpe does for a metal scene, don’t ever come to Doncaster or Leeds, Sheffield.

While She Sleeps.

As it happens While She Sleep happen to be one of my favorite bands, people often question how a local band can be that, they’re everything I look for in a band. Insane gang vocals, breakdowns, lyrical meanings.
So when people get surprised or argue the fact that they’re one of my favorite bands I often reply with that however, I usually see them once or twice a month. Even when I listen to While She Sleeps on my IPod it feels just as good as my shouting the lyrics back at vocalist Jordan.
Pretty much from the first time I saw them I fell in love. They have devolved a sound like no other band in Yorkshire at the moment I think they are the kings of the Northern music scene. Two new songs should be up shortly on there My Space, We the brave, I am king. When I say I am king is a new song I think everyone who has ever seen them knows the chant “I AM FUCKING KING” a very powerful masterpiece. Despite coming as close as you possibly get to download there dream Was snatched away from them, this might not be as bad as it sounds as they responded by throwing every ounce of energy they possibly can into shows and music. At a barn, skittle alley, I have faith While She Sleeps.

Songs like Homecoming, Embedded in sand which are currently on there My Space each show everything you need to know about the onslaught of them at moment. It’s no a fan base it’s a family.
